Hi Everyone,
I had drop attacks with menieres around 20 years ago and so had a vestibular neurectomy
(brain op) and have around 25% hearing in my left ear.
6 years ago Menieres started in my right ear and lost around 20%
of my hearing. I tried the n.h.s digital behind ears aids but not very good so I invested in a Phonak Savia just for my right ear,and wear it all the time as it was such an improvement.
Last year diagnosed with sleep apnea so now wear a mask of a night and after 3 months started having noises in my right ear when I woke.
This would go by mid day. I suspect it was to do with pressures from the machine around my nose etc, but only a guess ?
6 months ago hearing remained at the same level but sounds become distorted like car exhaust was blowing everything very bassy and speech harder to recognize.
I have been to another hospital that have one of the top hearing departments and they are making an aids for both ears.

Questions:-
Is this common to have distorted sounds like this?. If so can any aids help?
will the nhs behind the ear help or should I be looking for more specialized aids? I visit peoples home and talk to them but have stopped because it has become too difficult hearing them speak.Would something like the phonak smartlink help my situation?

Any help would be really appreciated

Thanks Joe
