I posted this on a few other forums....

I got involved with some online hearing tests a while ago, and each time I came up as having a problem in the upper frequencies, and see a specialist!! I retook the tests a few times, and it was about the same each time....I have a problem.

I don't think I have a problem, BUT this makes me nervous.

So, I went and made an appointment at Beltone and Miracle Ear, as the consults were free [yeah, I know they want to sell you something.]
My appointment was at Beltone yesterday. It was quick and I was out in about 10 or 15 minutes [about the time for the online test.] I have pretty good hearing in the ranges up to 4000, about 20ish, where it drops like a rock to about 60 or so. He says this is normal for a person my age, 61, and come back for another test in a year or so.

I still have the Miracle Ear appointment next week.

What do you think??? I only have problems on the phone, and it is with specific people. [Not problems with them, but hearing them] I always try to up the volume, but it is on as high as it goes.

OK. I went to a movie last night. It was an oldie, Slap Shot with Paul Newman. Some of the sounds were difficult. People were laughing at some things and I missed....they were speaking quietly, I thought.
