Hi Michaela87.  Read your post yesterday when I joined as a new member and am somewhat surprised that no one has posted you a reply so thought I would.  I'm sorry that you are feeling so fed up.  I'm not sure that I can help, but I do sympathise with you. My own problems were/are probably very different from yours.  I'm almost 64 and only had hearing aids for the last eighteen months or so and in my situation (high frequency loss) the good old NHS came up trumps for me with a couple of Oticon Spirit Zest aids which really do help me greatly.  I wouldn't be without them.  Although I was aware of problems as far back as 30 years ago, I always managed though I now realise how much I was missing.  You don't know what you don't hear!
I've always imagined that the NHS do their best to meet the needs of people, particularly younger people such as yourself.  Have you let the clinic know that the aids they provided are not helping? Is it possible that they can do more for you?
When I first decided to do something about my hearing loss, I assumed that I would buy privately but quickly realised that not only is it a very expensive option, I also got the feeling that (and I'm sure it isn't true of all suppliers) they would be happy to sell you the most expensive piece of kit they could regardless of how suited it was to the particular problem.  My wife spoke to one of her friends who has had aids since childhood and she recommended me to go NHS and as I've said, it worked for me.  I realise I'm very fortunate.
I do hope you can get sorted out soon and that you will feel happier than at present.  Good luck.

Phil
