I am 56 ears old and have suffered from mild tinnitus for some years, but my hearing has deteriorated to the point that my wife has informed me in no uncertain terms that it is time for me to have a hearing test.

Today I went to Specsavers and did just that, it transpires that I require a hearing aid in both ears, I tried an Advance 500 model demonstrator which had been programmed for me, and I must say it was a revelation to be able to hear so clearly again.

My concern is what should I do now, I can at a very strong push afford this model but is it the one for me? How do I compare other models? Where do I go next?

Advice and guidance would be very much appreciated

Hi Lifebiker

Welcome to the site.

Specsavers tend to brand there hearing aids which makes it then difficult to compare with other companies.

I would suggest obtaining a second opinion. You could allways try our Sponsor Affordable Hearing Care. They also list all the prices on there website.

Let us know how you get on.
